Concert in the Dark, the world’s first concert organized by the visually impaired and held in complete darkness, have been receiving raving reviews over the years. Its success represents unlimited creativity, social inclusion and a unique experience, where in complete darkness, the visually impaired swaps places with its audience in order to achieve a truly inclusive society.

Concert in the Dark 2017(CiD), one of Hong Kong’s mega events, is entering its seventh year. It is organized by Dialogue in the Dark (HK) Foundation and co-organized by Dialogue Experience & People Mountain People Sea. A series of 8 concerts will be held from 24 to 27 August at Rotunda 3, 6/F, Kowloon Bay International Trade & Exhibition Centre (KITEC).

Proceeds from Concert in the Dark 2017 ticket sales, after deducting expenses, will benefit Dialogue in the Dark (HK) Foundation to support visually impaired persons and people with all disabilities to take professionally recognized courses and assist them in setting up their own businesses, career development and live independently.

“Mobility”

Concert in the Dark 2017 introduces audiences with an unprecedented and intriguing adventure with the theme ‘Mobility’. We envision a truly inclusive society with freedom of mobility across all walks without intrinsic or extrinsic barriers. People Mountain People Sea will once again lead the performance units including at17, AGA, Alex To, Alfred Hui, Anthony Wong, Jason Chan, John Tsang, Michelle Siu, William So & Yoyo Sham, with dance and acoustic music that set the tone for the night. Immersed in the dark and guided by music, audiences can be released from visual disturbance and indulge in the authentic experience of music: to embrace music with one’s body, mind and soul. Prepared by the visually impaired, the concert exemplifies a fulfilling life: that sparks of life can rekindle even within complete darkness. Audience will be led to go through an inspirational process to explore, to resonate and to embrace the true mobility of life.
